This place is outstanding! The food was an A+, flavor, temperature, and presentation was perfect. I had the stuffed quail and it was so pleasant to eat because they deboned it. I also had the turtle soup which was good but I want to try the gumbo next time I go. The bread pudding soufflé was outstanding for dessert. It felt like there was a server for the food, a server for beverages, and another server for the bread. The service was great and I really liked to see the way they serve a large party. They will send 8 servers to a large party so everyone has their food at the same time. The place is located in a really cool part of town across from a really old cemetery. The restaurant has a classic New Orleans ambience and is very elegant.

One of the oldest restaurants in NOLA, and one of the most popular restaurants to visit. The restaurant is old world style and even though it may need a fresh update. I think Commanders Palace would lose the upscale but homey feel. The food was pretty good including the desserts. The service from the host and all the way to the ones bussing the tables. I can say I was truly impressed.

A historical gem. Food was excellent . Best gumbo we've tried. Flavors were deep and complex . Service was excellent! All servers were in sync. Nice & cozy ambience too. One of our NOLA trip highlights.

Our friends son knows the sou chef so we were handled with care. We started out with drinks and delicious garlic bread. I had the Commanders Creole soup while Bob had the Commanders Crisp Romaine Salad. For our entrees, I had White Wild Shrimp Tamale and Bob had Chargrilled Jerked Spiced Duro Pork Chop. For dessert we had delicious, savory New York Cheesecake. The service was impeccable and we were treated like royalty. Never had a server come and give me a fresh glass of water and remove the old glass. We had at least 4 servers at our table for 6. The ambiance was authentic for New Orleans and old school.

Commander' Palace offers truly a magical experience. This is a must visit restaurant when in New Orleans. The service was impeccable. There were so many staff members dedicated to you having an excellent dining experience. Some lended their hand in picking out just the right wine selections which was helpful considering the extensive options. The food was incredible but the star of the show for me was the dessert. The bread pudding soufflé with whiskey sauce was possibly the best dessert I've ever had (that's coming from someone who isn't even a huge fan of bread pudding). We also ordered bananas foster which they made right at your table. Very entertaining to watch! It is a popular fine dining establishment, so make sure to have reservations well in advance and check the dress code before you go.

We decided to eat dinner here for our anniversary. Free valet parking was nice. The ambiance is beautiful at the upstairs dining area, and the wait staff is very attentive. The food was good, tasty, and plated nicely. We ordered the turtle soup, a fish entree, a beef entree, and a cauliflower appetizer. Portion size was ok except for the cauliflower appetizer, which was expensive for a few florets. Nothing exceptional compared to other "fancy" restaurants we have eaten at. Most of the diners were casually dressed and very few dressed up in suit jackets and long dresses. We did have an enjoyable dinner. We didn't order dessert but received a cute little anniversary dessert.

This place is amazing. We had dinner here and both had the tasting menu. It was excellent. The crab bisque was creamy and decadent. The Hokkaido scallop crudo was light and flavorful. The Texas redfish was wonderful and balanced. The Iberica Plumo was fantastic: smoked grilled beef with peaches, tomato relish, and fruit. It was the star. The dessert was wonderful too. The service is perfect. It is very professional The space is old school, yet comforting. It's a fancy place, but is not snobby. What a delightful evening.

We wanted to find a restaurant in NOLA that had unique items on the menu but that was still a Louisiana classic. This did not disappoint. What a great tasting experience we had! First we arrived and they gave us a nice table near the window. The place is classy and upscale, so don't try to show up in shorts, even in this heat. There were balloons and decor on the tables for Jazz Brunch, and a jazz band playing in the main dining area. We thought we would miss the band since we were seated upstairs, but no! They came to us and played at our table. It was so lovely! To start, we had garlic toast and ice water brought to the table while we ordered our cocktails. I had the Tequila Mockingbird #2, served up in a martini glass (did you know they have $.25 martinis on Friday mornings???). It was refreshing and icy, with a nice citrusy finish. Our starters included the Turtle Soup and the Shrimp and Tasso Henican, both recommended by our server. The Turtle soup was delicious. I was slightly skeptical, since...well...turtle...but it was quite good. The Shimp and Tasso ham was astounding, with some pickled red onions and that 5-pepper jelly!!!! WOW-my babe wanted to lick the plate, but didn't (thank goodness). lol For our entrees, i had the Blueberry BBQ Pork Cheeks. It was served on top of some white shrimp grits and and with brussel sprouts and a poached egg. I was not crazy at all for the blueberry bbq pork. The sauce overpowered everything. Not a do-over, but the rest of the items made up for it. The egg was perfect, the grits was so creamy, and the crunchy fried string-cut onions were light and salty. So good. My babe had the Louisiana fig-glazed Duck Pain Perdue! DING DING DING!!!! Ring the bell, we have a winner! The duck leg was so tender it melted on my mouth, was served on some decadent French bread (sort of like a French toast a bit) stuffed with a savory and sweet creole cream cheese. The duck was rolled in a peach jam and sticky root beer sauce. OMG That was the highlight of the meal. In the meantime, our wonderful server came and have us some history about the restaurant's beginnings and brought us some champagne to celebrate us. We also had a limoncello afterwards to cleans our palate before dessert. For dessert we had the bread pudding. Ok, hands-down the best ever. An angel food bread pudding? Holy vampires, that was epic. It was a fluffy cloud of softness filled with the crumbled breading all smothered in a whiskey cream. What a delightful brunch experience! Thank you!
